CANDLE LIGHT WALK, CAROLING, AND OTHER HOLIDAY TREATS
Luminares have been the centerpiece of our winter holiday festivities for many years. In this special Chapin Park
tradition, the neighborhood takes on a special glow
at dusk as the sidewalks are lined with luminaries. After a stroll through
the neighborhood, neighbors gather at the corner of
Manitou and Park for caroling, hot chocolate, and a visit
from Santa Claus! Some years, the festivities also include a historic Carriage Ride through the neighborhood, and the opportunity to purchase the annual commemorative Chapin Park holiday ornament.
Check out a poem written about the 2004 festivities.
Luminary Sales: Saturday and Sunday December 20-21, 2008.
Luminaries are $4 per dozen, and consist of white paper bags, sand, and candles. A dozen is generally adequate for a typical-sized lot. All proceeds support Chapin Park. Luminary Lighting & Candelight Walk: 7 p.m. Sunday December 21, 2008.
Ornaments: The Chapin Park holiday ornament sports the Chapin Park logo and features a different wonderful historic home each year.
